Birth of Hellhounds

This image depicts one of my original characters as she falls from grace. The little light is her soul leaving her.

I digitally drew the base while looking at This Image by Vulpixhelen. I have seen the image elsewhere, but this is the reference I used. I used my Wacom Intuos tablet to draw and paint the image and Autodesk sketchbook to draw and do the preliminary coloring before moving it to Gimp for completion. The feathers, shadows and lighting were really challenging for my minimal skills, but I like how it turned out.
